Leadership transition positions NordAmps to scale its breakthrough RF technology for next-generation wireless and data infrastructure
Lund, Sweden – May 2025 – NordAmps, a pioneer in III-V vertical nanowire transistor technology for high-frequency RF applications, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jan Andersson as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This leadership transition marks a strategic step forward as the company moves from advanced R&D to full-scale commercialization.
With more than 20 years of executive experience in the telecommunications, semiconductor, and networking industries, Jan Andersson joined NordAmps in 2024 as Chief Commercial Officer. Since then, he has played a vital role in shaping the company’s market strategy and positioning its nanowire transistor technology for adoption.
“Jan Andersson has demonstrated the strategic insight and commercial drive needed to bring NordAmps’ innovations to market,” said Jan Johannesson, Chairman of the Board at NordAmps. “His leadership will be instrumental in scaling our operations, expanding partnerships, and realizing the full potential of our unique III-V nanowire transistor design.”
A Leader in Turning Deep Tech Into Scalable Solutions
Before joining NordAmps, Jan held senior executive positions at Fingerprint Cards, HMS Networks, and Ericsson, where he led successful efforts to convert cutting-edge technologies into commercial products. His proven track record in productization, global business development, and market penetration aligns with NordAmps’ mission: to deliver compact, energy-efficient, high-frequency amplifier components based on its proprietary III-V vertical nanowire transistor technology.
As part of the leadership realignment, Lars Tilly, former CEO and co-founder of NordAmps, will assume the role of Chief Technical Officer (CTO). In this role, he will lead ongoing innovation and refinement of NordAmps’ core semiconductor technologies, focusing on performance optimization and manufacturability.
“With Jan focusing on business expansion and Lars driving technology leadership, NordAmps is well-positioned to accelerate the adoption of our III-V vertical nanowire transistors in critical RF front-end and high-frequency applications,” Johannesson added.
Accelerating Market Readiness in RF Front-End Innovation
NordAmps’ patented transistor architecture leverages III-V materials and a vertical nanowire structure to achieve unprecedented performance in millimeter-wave (mmWave) and beyond-5G communication systems. The company’s innovations enable higher gain, higher cutoff frequency, greater energy efficiency, and reduced footprint compared to traditional transistor technologies, key requirements for the next generation of analog devices.
Jan Andersson’s appointment as CEO signals a clear shift toward market execution and commercial scale-up, aligning with increasing industry demand for advanced RF components.
